CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – Amidst the forest and land fires (Karhutla) occurring in several regions, PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) continues to demonstrate its commitment to the community and its active support for mitigation efforts.
In a situation necessitating collective contribution, on Tuesday (Sept 22, 2026), the Company distributed humanitarian aid to the communities and sub-district governments in Pangkalan Banteng and Arut Utara Sub-districts, West Kotawaringin Regency, as well as Menthobi Raya Sub-district, Lamandau Regency.
For each sub-district, PT Korintiga Hutani allocated an equal amount of assistance, comprising 100 sacks of 5-kilogram rice, 100 cartons of instant noodles, 100 cartons of mineral water, and 55 boxes of face masks.
Pangkalan Banteng Sub-district is among the areas receiving significant attention regarding forest and land fire management in West Kotawaringin Regency. Local government data indicates that extinguishing and cooling operations by joint task forces are still underway in multiple locations.
Consequently, the assistance is directed not only toward the affected communities but also to the personnel directly engaged in the on-ground firefighting efforts.
Similar support was subsequently provided to Arut Utara Sub-district. PT Korintiga Hutani’s aid was handed over at the Forest and Land Fire Command Post at the Arut Utara Sub-district Office, received by the Head of Arut Utara Sub-district, Sapiudin, accompanied by several community leaders.
“We highly appreciate the attention and assistance provided by the Company. Support from the corporate sector plays a crucial role in strengthening disaster mitigation efforts and fulfilling the needs of the affected communities,” stated the Head of Arut Utara Sub-district, Sapiudin.
In addition to the West Kotawaringin area, PT Korintiga Hutani distributed assistance to the community in Menthobi Raya Sub-district, Lamandau Regency. This region maintains close ties with the Company’s operational activities and social programs.
Previously, PT Korintiga Hutani had implemented various Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programs in the area, including providing protection for vulnerable workers and public health support in the villages of Topalan, Batu Ampar, and Lubuk Hiju.
This recent distribution of aid serves as part of the Company’s ongoing efforts to respond to the needs of the communities surrounding its operational areas, while simultaneously supporting the various stakeholders involved in managing the forest and land fires.
