KALTENG POS – Efforts to mitigate forest and land fires (karhutla) in Lamandau Regency have received support from the corporate sector. Specifically, PT Korintiga Hutani has distributed logistical and fuel assistance to support the Forest and Land Fire Task Force (Satgas Karhutla) and volunteers operating on the front lines.

The provided assistance includes 1 ton of rice, 100 cartons of instant noodles, 25 cartons of canned sardines, 150 cartons of mineral water, 100 boxes of masks, as well as 1,000 liters of diesel and dexlite fuel for the operational needs of firefighting vehicles.

The Regent of Lamandau, Rizky Aditya Putra, welcomed the initiative and expressed his appreciation for this concern. According to him, the corporate assistance serves as a morale booster for the officers and volunteers who are currently facing the threat of forest and land fires across multiple regions.

“This certainly provides encouragement for the Forest and Land Fire Task Force and the volunteers in addressing the disaster we are currently facing,” stated Lamandau Regent Rizky Aditya Putra.

The Regent noted that fire mitigation efforts must be continuously strengthened given the weather conditions, which are projected to remain prone to fires until October 2026. To date, personnel continue to battle fires across various locations. One of the primary obstacles faced by the on-site teams is the limited water supply for the extinguishing process.

“The team’s constraint lies in the site conditions, particularly regarding water availability for firefighting efforts,” Rizky remarked during an interview at the courtyard of the Lamandau BPBD Office on Thursday (Sept 10).

Therefore, the Regent expressed his hope that all stakeholders, including corporations operating within the Lamandau Regency, will actively participate in supporting fire mitigation efforts. He emphasized that corporate support is highly essential, particularly to help fulfill the needs of the personnel during the on-site extinguishing and management operations.

“We hope that other companies will follow the example set by PT Korintiga in providing assistance to support forest and land fire management,” he asserted.

Meanwhile, the Director of PT Korintiga Hutani, Mr. Park Jongmyung, through the General Manager of PT Korintiga Hutani, Rais Sugito, stated that this assistance was handed over to help alleviate the burden on personnel dealing with the forest and land fire disaster in Lamandau Regency.

“We hope this assistance can ease the burden on the field officers, and it is our collective hope that this forest and land fire disaster will soon pass,” said Rais Sugito.
