CENTRAL KALIMANTAN — PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) highlighted the forestry industry’s pivotal role in supporting the regional economy and promoting public comprehension of responsible forest management at the Kalimantan Tengah (Kalteng) Expo 2026.

Through this exhibition, held from May 17–23, 2026, at the Bundaran Besar area in Palangka Raya, KTH introduced sustainable wood products to the general public, tourists, local business actors, and various stakeholders. The company also provided comprehensive education regarding biodiversity conservation, green industry practices, and the prudent utilization of forest resources.

The Kalteng Expo 2026 was officially inaugurated by the Governor of Central Kalimantan, Agustiar Sabran, on Sunday morning (May 17, 2026) at Bundaran Besar, Palangka Raya. This event constitutes a segment of the 69th Anniversary commemoration of Central Kalimantan Province, which was further enlivened by the Isen Mulang Cultural Festival (FBIM) 2026.

“KTH’s participation in this exhibition serves to inform the public regarding companies that operate with accountability in sustainable forestry, while simultaneously acting as a platform to project economic development and wood industry innovation within Central Kalimantan,” stated Agustiar.

KTH’s Planning Division Manager, Redi Sugihartono, articulated that the Kalteng Expo 2026 serves as a crucial momentum for the company to foster communication with the community and expand collaborative networks.

“KTH’s presence inherently educates the public on the judicious utilization of forests. The scope of KTH’s involvement at the Kalteng Expo 2026 encompasses the promotion of sustainable wood products, public education initiatives, industrial and academic collaborations, as well as definitive contributions to local economic growth and environmental awareness,” Redi remarked.

This strategic collaboration by KTH is anticipated to fortify sustainability strategies while simultaneously supporting the advancement of the industrial forestry sector in Central Kalimantan. Furthermore, this partnership is expected to empower the community’s role in forest management, thereby cultivating a sustainable equilibrium between environmental conservation efforts and the enhancement of the surrounding community’s welfare.
