CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – As blazes sweep across parts of the province, PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) carries on to support local communities and firefighting efforts.
At a time when collective action is needed, the company has come through with humanitarian aid for affected residents and district governments in Pangkalan Banteng, North Arut (both located in West Kotawaringin Regency), and Menthobi Raya (Lamandau Regency).
On Tuesday (9/22/2026), the districts received 100 sacks of 5-kg rice, 100 boxes of instant noodles, 100 boxes of mineral water, and 55 boxes of medical face masks.
Pangkalan Banteng, one of KTH’s priority areas in West Kotawaringin, has continued to tame fires in parts of its territory. Latest reports from the local government show containment and cooling operations remain underway, with multiple stakeholders helping. This has led the company to follow suit, with the aid addressed to firefighters in addition to ordinary citizens.
In North Arut, these essentials were also delivered to the local fire command post and accepted by North Arut District Head Saprudin, accompanied by other community leaders.
Saprudin said, “We deeply appreciate the support. Help from the private sector will be essential in strengthening disaster response and relief efforts.”

Meanwhile, Menthobi Raya — a district directly impacted by company operations — has long benefited from similar initiatives.
Previous ones include protection for vulnerable workers and healthcare assistance targeting the villages of Topalan, Batu Ampar, and Lubuk Hiju.
But this time, KTH aims to meet urgent needs and aid those involved in wildfire mitigation.
The company believes support does not end when disruptions happen. When the situation calls for shared action, KTH strives to provide immediate, tangible help for communities — and in this case frontline fire responders. (PR)
