PALANGKARAYA – On Monday (4/20/2026), PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) saw its Eucalyptus pellita seedlings rooted at the Bundaran Besar Palangkaraya by the Human Settlements Division of Central Kalimantan’s Department of Public Works and Housing (PUPR). These seedlings were earlier donated to the department for the 10,000-tree planting campaign.

Present alongside KTH representatives were the local PUPR leader Juni Gultom and his officials, who took part in the planting. Gultom gave a speech at the ceremony, thanking the company.

“This campaign is proof of our commitment to environmental preservation, air quality improvement, and sustainable development for a greener, healthier future,” Gultom said. “We’d like to express our appreciation for PT Korintiga Hutani, whose contribution has been invaluable.”

It’s an initiative that not only symbolizes reforestation, but also thoughtfully addresses climate change and urbanization issues. By working together, the local public and private sectors create strong synergy that helps maintain the ecosystem balance and enhance quality of life in communities.

This seedling donation is part of KTH’s efforts to promote urban greening, improve environmental quality, and establish lush, comfortable public spaces that also last long, said KTH’s Public Relations staff member Maarif.

“We believe environmental sustainability is a shared responsibility. Through this seedling donation, we hope to provide long-term benefits to people in Palangkaraya and help create a greener city.”

KTH is using this initiative to drive ongoing public-private collaborations on preservation. This move aligns with a commitment to advancing environmentally-conscious regional development and better community well-being in the place it operates. (PR)
