NORTH ARUT – Ahead of the 79th Independence Day, Korintiga Hutani (KTH) arranged a series of sports matches on July 17 – August 17, 2024 at the Pellita Basecamp, Nanga Mua Village, North Arut Subdistrict (West Kotawaringin Regency)
The celebrations kicked off with a ceremony involving company executives and staff at KTH’s sports arena. In his greeting speech, KTH’s deputy general manager Rais Sugito praised the event’s execution and hoped for sportsmanship among players. He also expected full support from the audience for the competing teams.“
Hope these matches strengthen the bond between staff and the board of directors,” Sugito said at the kick-off that started with a futsal game between local and foreign employees.
This game was then followed by volleyball, sepak takraw (foot volleyball), and soccer competitions in the next few days. Winners were entitled to various prizes and had their names announced at the Independence Day ceremony on August 17.

The games drew high levels of interest from players, most of whom came from the central and unit basecamps.
Aligned with this year’s Independence Day theme, “Nusantara Baru Indonesia Maju” (A New Nusantara, a Developed Nusantara), Korintiga Hutani’s event went with “Peduli Lingkungan” (Caring for the Environment), demonstrating its pledge to ensuring national progress through environmental preservation actions.
This theme gave rise to a clean-up contest at the employee base camp. Held alongside the games, this activity aimed to boost awareness on environmental hygiene.
“Clean environments bring a sense of comfort and better well-being for the inhabitants,” said Sugito. The KTH official also highlighted individual efforts to maintain environmental hygiene as critical to shared prosperity. (PR)
