CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) organized an operator license (SIO) training and certification course on Thursday (12/11) at Teluk Makka Sports Complex, Pellita Base Camp in Nanga Mua, West Kotawaringin. This initiative is meant to enhance job-related competencies and ensure compliance with safety and health (OSH) standards.
In attendance were employees from KTH and its contractors. The company appointed Rudi Hendarto from Segoro Intercom as the main trainer.
Topics included technical aspects of heavy equipment operation, safety and health principles and regulations, as well as risk control. Participants benefited from the comprehensive curriculum, which equipped them with the knowledge and skills to minimize accidents at work.
It’s also designed to meet organizational goals, ensuring proper qualification, understanding of safety protocols, and compliance with standard operating procedures pertaining to heavy machinery use.
“Competent, [most importantly] certified operators are the backbone of safe, productive work environments. Getting a certification means you’re doing more than meeting a requirement. It means you’re also taking responsibility [for your development] as a professional,” Hendarto said.

For KTH’s HRD Manager Indro Murdono, workplace safety is the company’s core value. “Safety is a principle we hold dear. This course captures our commitment to establishing an integrated safety culture for the sake of our employees and partners.”
PT Korintiga Hutani expects participants to leave this course with a new sense of responsibility, enabling them to perform their duties professionally and safely. This way, they can continue supporting company operations. The initiative is part of KTH’s long-term strategy to build skilled talents and an OSH-compliant work system. (PR)
