WEST KOTAWARINGIN – Korintiga Hutani (KTH) has recently arranged a “Proper Pesticide Handling” workshop for its Planting and Maintenance Division. The event held at Teluk Makka Sports Hall, Pellita Base Camp sought to enhance in-house technical competencies and ensure safety standards are met in operations.
It focused on improving comprehension and skills around safe, effective, and SOP-compliant application of pesticides. Nufarm Indonesia supplied the teaching staff and learning materials.
Participants were treated to a comprehensive course on spraying techniques, pesticide selection, personal protective equipment (PPE) use, and emergency response procedures.
“We believe technical and safety training is foundational to productivity and operational sustainability. We want to ensure the entire workforce understands what responsible pesticide use looks like,” said Teguh Eko Yunianto from the Planting and Maintenance Division.
This workshop reflects Korintiga Hutani’s commitment to worker health and safety, in addition to toxic pollution prevention, said Tutik Jani Ariska from the HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment) Division.
“We hope this activity helps cultivate a safer, more sustainable work culture.”
Members of the Planting and Maintenance Division had fun with the lesson (including a step-by-step demonstration), interactive discussion, and Q&A session, which provided practical insight.
Going forward, Korintiga Hutani aims to strengthen its forest maintenance staff while upholding environmental protection and safety standards at its site. (PR)
