CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) successfully wrapped up its annual Innovation Award Tuesday (1/27/2026). The event at Natai Peramuan marked a moment to celebrate employee ideas in the spirit of progress and an effort to deepen a culture of innovation and safety.
The 2025 Innovation Award featured the Safety Idea Competition (LIS), which has continued to raise workforce awareness of safety, health, and efficiency over three consecutive years.
Senior executives, including President Director Hironobu Abe and Vice President Director Jongmyung Park, were also present.
But the highlight of the Award was the company’s Chip Mill Division, whose project “Penambahan Corong untuk Cleaning Chip 407” (Chute Addition for Wood Chipper Unit 407 Cleaning) won for its accident-reducing, time-speeding benefits.
This project was praised by President Director Abe in his speech, as he stressed the need for balancing worker protection and operational efficiency when developing innovations for the company.
“I would like to appreciate the Chip Mill Division for their idea. It puts safety as a priority and at the same time increases productivity. This project is proof that safety and efficiency can go together and drive company longevity,” said Abe.

The management went on to recognize the work of other participants. LIS’s continued success proved that safety awareness has taken root in KTH’s culture.
“Employee-driven innovations show change is thriving at KTH. I believe that with the courage to innovate, we are not only creating safer environments, but also improving our competitiveness,” said KTH’s Vice President Director Jongmyung Park.
The event sent a powerful message: safety should not impede productivity. With the right innovation, both can coexist to boost profitability and work comfort.
The 2025 Innovation Award reaffirms the belief that “every employee is an agent of change”. Little things — like adding a chute to a chipper — make big impacts on business longevity and worker well-being. (PR)
