PELLITA BASECAMP – It takes multiple ways to improve the education system; allocating CSR funds for teacher welfare is one of them. This was what Central Kalimantan-based forestry company Korintiga Hutani did recently with educators in the villages it supports.
There were 13 beneficiaries from eight villages: Topalan Village, Batu Ampar Village, Lubuk Hiju Village, Panahan Village, Riam Village, Penyombaan Village and Nanga Mua Village.
Teacher welfare aid is the company’s regular program, made to demonstrate care for the village residents, said Korintiga Hutani PR official Erwansyah at the handover ceremony.
“Providing religious education teachers and other teaching staff with cash aid is one of the ways Korintiga Hutani shows its attention and love [to these teachers],” he said.
On behalf of the recipients, Dewi Susanti thanked the company for showing consideration. “And last but not least, we would like to thank KTH [Korintiga Hutani] for its help. KTH has always paid attention to us teachers. We’re grateful to receive this cash assistance that will be useful for us.”
Since 2015, Korintiga Hutani has been extending welfare aid to teachers as part of its social responsibilities. This aid consists of cash money given directly to beneficiaries. (Renee/KTH)
