PANGKALAN BUN – A state priority issue, stunting now receives serious attention from non-government stakeholders, including Korintiga Hutani (KTH).
As part of its social responsibilities, the industrial forest operator is running a recovery program at Pandau Village, North Arut Subdistrict (West Kotawaringin Regency).
KTH works in tandem with the Pandau village government and Sambi Puskesmas (state-run integrated health post), aiming to provide practical solutions to the nutritional issues.
On Wednesday, December 11th, 2024, stunting-affected children were presented with anti-stunting food packages through a symbolic ceremony at the village office.
Each package contained SGM Gain Optigrow and SGM Ananda powdered milk packets, Imboost Kids and Imboost Force vitamin syrup and tablets, Milna biscuits, and chicken eggs.

This aid is designed to meet three months’ worth of dietary needs. Two selected locals (with input from the village government) are also assigned to monitor each child for any changes or developments.
That Wednesday, Korintiga Hutani’s director Park Jong Myung handed the packages to three of the kids, with their parents in tow.
This ceremony was watched by the Pandau village leader, representatives of Sambi Puskesmas, a midwife from Pandau Village’s Pustu (secondary Puskesmas), and local community figures.
Also taking place was a handover of a crutch for Iron, a disabled resident whose mobility has been enabled by a makeshift wood cane.
For the next three months, officers in charge Rensi and Wilda will be keeping track of the children’s growth progress, said Korintiga Hutani’s deputy general manager, Rais Sugito.
The two will work with Pandau’s medical staff and regularly report their findings to the company.
In exchange, KTH will reward them with monthly incentives. This program is hoped to transform the health of young Pandau villagers.
On the same day as the handover, free treatment was provided to the community.
This service was delivered by KTH’s medical team and staff from Pandau Village’s Pustu dan Sambi Puskesmas. Drugs and other medical items were supplied by the company.
Pandau village leader Agung Purnomo lauded KTH for the help. “On behalf of the village government and members, I would like to thank Korintiga Hutani for the attention and assistance with tackling stunting issues. I hope our partnership continues for the greater good.”
This initiative demonstrates KTH’s role in promoting better quality of life in nearby communities.
Besides the director and deputy general manager, Korintiga Hutani’s General Manager Taeyull Hwam, Planning Manager Rudi Sugihartono, Forest Village Community Development and Public Relations Manager Erwansyah Ardi, and KTH Clinic head Ahmad MK were also present. (Radar Sampit)
