CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – “Basic Excavator Maintenance and Safe Excavator Operation”, a heavy equipment operation and safety awareness training, took place at Korintiga Hutani’s Pelita Base Camp Sports Hall, Nanga Mua, Central Kalimantan. This one-day course was developed in collaboration with a heavy-duty company.

That Wednesday (8/27), all forestry production operators attended, along with production division manager Tomtom Pasaribu and management representative Sato.

“We believe people development is key to maintaining work efficiency and safety. This event not only builds technical skills, but also a working culture that’s safer and more responsible,” Pasaribu said.

Indra Febriana led the induction, which involved technical lessons and hands-on practice related to basic maintenance and safety procedures for excavator operation.

“As operators work directly with heavy equipment, having a good understanding of their maintenance and safety protocols will help them minimize [accident] risks and extend equipment lifespan,” he said.

This session — which introduces the types and specifications of Korintiga Hutani’s production machines — is expected to be regular.

The company believes competence without safety is futile, and safety without competence is ineffective. Its heavy-duty operators must possess the necessary skills, certificates, and discipline in following OSH principles. Having these requirements met will minimize injury risks, increase productivity, and maintain corporate reputation. (*)
