CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – Korintiga Hutani had a lively celebration of Independence Day down in Central Kalimantan, with exciting games and performances taking place since mid-July. All culminated on August 17, when a flag-hoisting ceremony was organized at Pelita Base Camp.
Multiple sports competitions, including volleyball, futsal, soccer, badminton, and sepak takraw, were held to build camaraderie and nationalism among staff members. Participants were given the chance to demonstrate sportsmanship and boost solidarity among themselves.
There was also an environmental hygiene contest for live-in employees. This segment promotes teamwork while underscoring Korintiga Hutani’s commitment to creating a pleasant living environment for its workers.
The patriotic atmosphere was palpable, even for company-funded Rimba Pelita Elementary. The school hosted an arts performance aimed at instilling nationalism at Pelita Base Camp’s Sports Hall.
Its principal Wono expressed his delight at the enthusiasm.
“We’re thrilled to have organized this arts festival and seen our kids joining with such passion and joy. For us, this event is more than just entertainment, it’s a foundational step in nurturing a new generation of artistically talented youth,” he remarked.

The series of activities, imbued with joy and togetherness, closed with a walking event, drawing hundreds of people, including Korintiga Hutani’s board of directors. Attendees had the opportunity to enjoy health benefits and attractive prizes.
Korintiga Hutani’s Director Hironobu Abe lauded everyone for participating. “We are proud to be part of the 80th Independence Day anniversary celebration.
