PANGKALAN BUN – PT Koritiga Hutani once again showed its concern for the people of North Arut Sub-district. When the flood occurred in North Arut Sub-district, PT Korintiga made another donation of staple food packages.
The general manager of PT Korintiga Hutani, Rais Sugito said that this staple food donation from PT Korintiga Hutani is part of the company’s concern for the community, considering that so many houses have been drowned and road access has been cut off. “Seeing the flood condition in North Arut, we were concerned. People who already had a hard time with the Covid-19 outbreak, were hit terribly due to flood that occurred these few days,” Rais Sugito said.
According to him, the company felt moved to help the community by distributing food aid. The aid was handed over to the Kobar Regency government and was received by the Deputy Regent of Kobar, Ahmadi Riansyah. “The staple food packages we sent to the government consist of 200 boxes of instant fried noodles, 137 sacks of 5 kg rice, 36 sacks of 10 kg rice, and 100 boxes of Aqua mineral water which can be used to slightly ease the burden of people affected by the flood,” he explained.
Considering that so far the community in North Arut Sub-district has been partners with the company and is able to cooperate well. In such condition, it is the company’s obligation to act out of concern. “This donation we provided aims to ease the burden of the community affected by the flood and Covid-19. Because the flood si getting worse and the water level that drowned people’s homes is also getting higher,” he stated.
The Deputy Regent of Kobar, Ahmadi Riansyah expressed his gratitude for this donation given by PT Korintiga Hutani to ease the burden of people affected by the flood, where the donation from the company is always being provided for the community of Kobar, particularly in North Arut Sub-district. “On behalf of the Regent of Kobar and Kobar Regency government, and representing the people of North Arut Sub-district, we appreciate PT Korintiga Hutani for the company’s concern in providing the donation in the times of flood,” the Deputy Regent of Kobar, Ahmadi Riansyah conveyed.
The current flood condition has added a new problem in North Arut Sub-district. While the Covid-19 problem has not yet ended, the community is now being faced with flood disaster. “However, due to the support from the private sector, this can slightly ease people’s burden,” he said.
Afterward, this donation of staple food packages were received by the regency government and was handed over to the head of North Arut Sub-district. This donation will be immediately distributed to the community impacted by the flood. (rin/sla)
