CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – In observance of World Tree Planting Day 2025, PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) held a series of forest conservation-themed activities. These included naming an arboretum in accordance with conservation principles and a photo contest designed to appreciate the biodiversity within KTH’s managed concession area.

Through this contest, the company hopes to raise employee and community awareness regarding the importance of forest conservation while capturing beautiful moments from various corners of the forest.

The highlight of the event—the winner announcement and mini photo exhibition—took place on Thursday (December 15, 2025) at the KTH main lobby. PT KTH President Director Hironobu Abe attended in person, alongside management, employees, and contest participants.

The atmosphere was lively as the winners were announced. Visitors also viewed selected works showcasing the charm of the Kalimantan forest. Under the theme ‘Nature’s Smile-Our Smile,’ the contests offered cash prizes and stay vouchers from Hotel Mercure, a renowned hotel in Pangkalan Bun, Central Kalimantan, which served as the main sponsor.

“This contest isn’t just about competition; it’s about celebrating nature’s beauty and strengthening our commitment to sustainability together. Through this activity, we want to affirm KTH’s dedication to forest conservation while providing space for employees and the community to create,” said Hironobu Abe.

He added, “This arboretum is not just a symbol of preservation, but a place of togetherness that will grow with the company. We are very proud of the participants’ enthusiasm and the extraordinary quality of their work. We hope this unlocks everyone’s creative potential.”

Reni Febriani, event organizer and master of ceremonies, also expressed her appreciation. “This is the first photo exhibition organized by PT KTH, and we are thrilled by the participants’ enthusiasm in capturing the forest’s beauty. Hopefully, this is the first step toward future extraordinary events. Every work displayed is not just a photo, but a strong message about the importance of protecting nature for future generations.”

The event concluded with light refreshments to foster camaraderie between employees and company leadership. PT KTH hopes this activity marks the beginning of various creative and sustainable initiatives, strengthening conservation values and relationships between the company, employees, and the community.
