CENTRAL KALIMANTAN – PT Korintiga Hutani (KTH) has successfully wrapped up its annual agenda, the Innovation Award. Taking place at the KTH-Mill Natai Peramuan area on Tuesday (27/1/2026), the event served as a key moment to appreciate employees’ creative ideas while reinforcing a culture of innovation and workplace safety.
Entering its third year, the Safety Idea Competition (LIS) was integrated into the 2025 Innovation Award series. This competition serves as a platform for employees to foster a culture of care regarding Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) alongside operational efficiency.
The event saw attendance from the company’s top brass, including President Director Mr. Hironobu Abe, Director Mr. Park Jong Myung, and the entire KTH-Mill management team.
The spotlight fell on the Chipmill Division, which clinched the championship title with its innovative idea, “Adding a Funnel for Cleaning Chip 407.” This innovation was deemed compelling as it eliminates accident risks during machine cleaning while speeding up work duration, directly ensuring a smoother production flow.
In his remarks, Mr. Hironobu Abe specifically praised the Chipmill team’s achievement, emphasizing that the company’s future direction must balance human protection with operational efficiency.
“I highly appreciate this innovative idea from the Chipmill Division. It doesn’t just prioritize safety; it simultaneously boosts work productivity. This is a real example that safety and efficiency can walk hand-in-hand to support company sustainability,” stated Mr. Hironobu Abe.

Management also extended their highest appreciation to all participants. The continued success of LIS proves that awareness of the importance of workplace safety has taken deep root in the corporate culture.
“Innovations born from employees like this show that the spirit of change is truly alive at KTH. I believe that with the courage to innovate, we are not only creating a safer work environment but also increasing the company’s competitiveness for the future,” said KTH Vice President Mr. Park Jong Myung.
The 2025 Innovation Award sends a powerful message: workplace safety should not hinder productivity. Instead, with the right innovations, both can coexist to boost profitability and work comfort.
Through this event, PT KTH reaffirms that every employee is an agent of change. Small steps, like adding a simple funnel, can make a massive impact on business continuity and worker welfare. (PR)
