InfoPBUN, WEST KOTAWARINGIN – The Regent of West Kotawaringin, Central Kalimantan, Nurhidayah, oversaw the development of people’s market located in Mendawai Village, South Arut District, Friday (01/22).
Accompanied by the Head of the Industry, Trade and SME Office of West Kotawaringin, H Achmad Yadi, Nurhidayah carried out a check on the building of people’s market which will later be occupied by sellers who previously sold their goods in Korindo market.
Nurhidayah said the people’s market was being built with West Kotawaringin Regional Budget (APBD) from 2020 annual budget.
This first female regent in Central Kalimantan stated that the people’s market concept will not merely be a market. According to plan, the people’s market will be made into a model market where it will be decorated with garden and greening sites, in addition to the building of open green space (RTH) or go green space, which can be a tourist destination for West Kotawaringin residents.
“The regional government has coordinated with PT Korindo, considering that this asset was previously owned by Korindo. Once again, this is for the sake of improving economic growth in the surrounding community, hence Korindo was willing to donate this asset so that the government can carry out the current development,” Nurhidayah explained.
