At PT. Korintiga Hutani (KTH), we produce high-quality wood chips sourced from sustainably managed eucalyptus plantations. Our wood chips serve as a key raw material for various industries, including pulp and paper production.
We are proud to be a trusted supplier to Oji Holdings Corporation, exporting wood chips to their Yonago Mill for dissolving pulp production. This partnership reflects our commitment to delivering sustainable and high-quality raw materials while supporting global supply chains in an environmentally responsible manner.
Through responsible forestry practices and international collaborations, we continue to contribute to the development of sustainable industries while maintaining harmony with nature.
As global awareness of environmental issues and sustainable energy grows, wood pellets are emerging as an increasingly popular renewable energy source. Eco-friendly, easy to store, and convenient to transport, wood pellets are gaining a larger share in the global fuel market.
The demand for wood pellets continues to rise each year, particularly in Asia, where many countries rely on imports to meet their energy needs. Most imported wood pellets are used in industrial energy sectors, often co-fired coal, as well as for residential heating. This shift highlights the growing role of wood pellets in transitioning toward more sustainable energy solutions.
Our wood pellets are produced using raw materials sourced from harvesting sites, primarily low-quality wood that may not be suitable for wood chips or log sales. By utilizing these materials, we create high-value wood pellets, maximizing resource efficiency while supporting sustainable energy solutions.
To ensure responsible sourcing and environmental sustainability, our wood pellets are FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) and PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification) certified. These certifications reflect our commitment to sustainable forestry and high environmental standards in our production process.
We believe that wood fuel heating will play a vital role in the future of renewable energy, contributing to climate change goals and helping to reduce carbon emissions in the atmosphere.
Our biomass power plant is fueled by sustainably sourced raw materials, including eucalyptus bark from the wood chip process and branches from harvesting sites. These by-products, which would otherwise go to waste, are repurposed to generate clean energy, making our operations more sustainable and resource-efficient. With a generation capacity of 7.3 MWh, our plant powers our wood processing complex while also supporting the local community.
Through a partnership with Indonesia’s state electricity company (PLN), we supply electricity to approximately 4,000 households, contributing to the region’s sustainable energy infrastructure. Looking ahead, we plan to expand our biomass energy production, increasing capacity to meet growing demand and further supporting Indonesia’s transition to renewable energy sources.
