Together for the Forest, Together for a Green Tomorrow

At KTH, we believe trees are an invaluable resource that, when managed responsibly, can support both human needs and environmental sustainability. With the world’s population growing by 70 million people each year, trees offer a renewable solution for shelter, hygiene, packaging, textiles, bioplastics, and more—while also providing wildlife habitats, recreation spaces, and essential ecosystem services.

We recognize that environmental protection is a core pillar of sustainable forest management. That’s why we are committed to preserving and enhancing buffer zones, conservation areas, wetlands, cultural heritage sites, and High Conservation Value (HCV) forests—ensuring that our operations contribute to a greener, more sustainable future for all.

Protecting Our Forests: Monitoring, Fire Prevention & Infrastructure Support

At KTH, we actively monitor land cover changes within our concession area to detect and prevent illegal activities and mitigate the risk of forest fires. Our commitment to forest protection includes a dedicated fire-fighting team trained to respond swiftly and effectively to any fire incidents.

Beyond response measures, we prioritize prevention by engaging with local communities through awareness campaigns and fire prevention programs, ensuring that the surrounding areas remain safe and resilient against wildfire threats.

Additionally, our well-developed forest road network plays a crucial role in these protection efforts, allowing for rapid response to fire incidents, improved patrolling to prevent illegal activities, and enhanced accessibility for conservation and monitoring teams.

Ensuring Safety for Our Workforce

KTH prioritizes labor safety as a fundamental part of its operations. We implement strict occupational health and safety (OHS) protocols to protect our employees across all forestry and industrial activities. Our safety initiatives include:

  • Regular safety training & education to ensure workers are equipped with the necessary skills to operate safely.
  • Protective gear & equipment provided to all workers to prevent injuries.
  • Emergency response teams in place to handle workplace incidents efficiently.
  • Strict compliance with national and international safety regulations, ensuring a secure and ethical working environment.

We believe that a safe working environment not only protects our employees but also enhances operational efficiency, reinforcing our long-term commitment to sustainable forest management.
